Sport forms an integral part of a pupil’s life at Brighton College. All of our pupils experience a wide variety of different sporting activities through PE lessons, as well as the diverse after-school activities programme that the College has to offer. Our pupils are taught in state-of-the-art facilities and also benefit from the partnership Brighton College has with Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club and the outstanding array of top-class sports facilities it has to offer.
Our Sports Department aim to establish teams that are in line with the traditions of Brighton College UK whilst at the same time being mindful of the opportunities and competition that is available in Al Ain and the UAE. All pupils will have the opportunity to participate in competitive matches, either through fixtures against other schools or inter-house competition.
No one should be left out
We firmly believe that all pupils deserve the opportunity to enjoy sport, regardless of their ability. By devoting time and attention to those who are less confident as well as to those with more experience, we develop life skills that bring resilience and success beyond school life. We also offer PE at GCSE and PE (Sports Science) at A-level and have recently introduced BTEC Sport Science in 2020. We provide a range of activities, both co-ed and gender specific to ensure that all our pupils, regardless of background or culture are able to benefit from our sporting offering. All pupils are encouraged to pursue sports in which they are talented or interested. In achieving this we hope that our pupils leave us with a love of sport and a desire to continue participating that will stay with them throughout their lives.
